Steelweld celebrates Charity Partnership with Marie Curie by reaching £40k

Steelweld Fabrications Ltd has celebrated a successful partnership with Marie Curie after pledging £40,000 to the charity. The outstanding sum of funds was raised during a 12 month period with the Company matching funds raised throughout the year.

Dominic Crilly, Managing Director said "As a business, we are firmly committed to giving something back to the local community and we try hard to demonstrate this commitment in everything we do. Our hope at the beginning of this partnership was to raise much needed funds for Marie Curie and to help raise awareness of their cause and the fantastic work they do, but we did not anticipate how significant the ending would be. As a Company, we are immensely proud of this achievement and are overwhelmed by the support and generosity we received from our customers, suppliers, employees ad other local companies during the past 12 months-these companies and individuals should share this pride as it is their involvement, enthusiasm and generous donations that have helped us reach such a significant amount for Marie Curie".

Steelweld staff raised money throughout the year with a program of activities, ranging from a 'Big Breakfast' morning, Christmas Jumper Day to a glitzy Gala Ball which was held on 25th June 2016 in the Greenvale Hotel, Cookstown.

Sandra Spence, Marie Curie Community Fundraiser said "On behalf of Marie Curie I want to thank everyone at Steelweld Fabrications Ltd for their amazing fundraising throughout the year which cumulated in their wonderful gala ball. It has been a pleasure to work alongside such an enthusiastic and caring workforce. All the money raised will be used to provide care and support to people living with any terminal illness and their families".
